Frogs

I remember the frogs and toads

like any curious child instead of jumping away from them

I like to intently observe

like any other creatures on this earth

I am curious

In my youth

In Zoology/ biology class,

I remember dissecting them

investigating their anatomy

I used microscope to study them

I remember the frogs and toads of my childhood

I remember the noise they used to make

As I grew older,

I observed their silence

They were less and less of them to find

but on vacation, in an old historical fort

I found some of them
