Even after death, Christo continues to have an impact .
Christo's dream became a reality 60 years since he imagined it.
The Arc de Triomphe is an iconic monument in Paris. Under its vault , lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the First World War. The famous Paris attraction is covered in 25,000 square meters of recycled silver blue fabric and with 3,000 meter of red rope. You can view Christo and Jean Claude's Post humous work of art for free in Paris from September 18, 2021 to October 3, 2021.
The husband and wife team Christo and Jean Claude met in Paris in 1961. They have been making public works of art since then . Unlike a painting on a Canvas, their work does not take only weeks or months to make. It takes them decades since the time they conceptualize it to actual fruition of the project.
The arc de Triumph, Wrapped is such a beautiful gift to the city where they met. They may not witness it while they were alive but I wonder if they knew how their art work is very timely and relevant 60 years after they imagined it.
