Philadelphia Zoo



"America's first Zoo"

The Philadelphia Zoo, America’s first zoo, is renowned for innovation in animal care and unwavering commitment to wildlife. A zoo of firsts, Philadelphia Zoo has been a leader since opening its historic gates on July 1, 1874. (Its charter was signed on March 21, 1859, but due to the Civil War the opening was delayed for 15 years). Responsible for the first successful orangutan and chimpanzee births in the U.S., being the first zoo in the world to build an on-site animal care center, developing the first specially-formulated foods for zoo animals, and opening the first Children’s Zoo in the U.S., Philadelphia Zoo has always been an industry leader, setting standards for animal care and guest experiences."

In this zoo you can find many animals including Bald eagles, Mommy, the Galapagos tortoise hatched in 1928 , Little girl Galapagos tortoise hatched in 1940 and Abarazzo male Galapagos tortoise hatched in 1929 and now weighting 409 lbs.






Central Park Zoo


" located at the southeast corner of Central Park in New York City. Its precursor, a menagerie, was founded in 1864, becoming the first public zoo to open in New York. The present facility first opened as a city zoo on December 2, 1934, and was part of a larger revitalization program of city parks, playgrounds and zoos initiated in 1934 by New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.





Prospect Park Zoo

This is where you can find seals, children's petting zoo, bats , birds and a wide variety of animals.

Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and aquarium

The zoo is known for its leadership in animal conservation and research. Evolving from the public Riverview Park Zoo established in 1894, today the zoo includes several notable exhibits. "Kingdoms of the Night" is the world's largest nocturnal exhibit and indoor swamp,[6] the "Lied Jungle" is one of the world's largest indoor rainforests, and the "Desert Dome" is one of the world's largest indoor deserts,[7] as well as the largest glazed geodesic dome.


San Diego Zoo

Saint Louis Zoo

Bronx Zoo

"is celebrating it's 125th birthday. It is a zoo within Bronx Park in the Bronx, New York. It is one of the largest zoos in the United States by area and is the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States by area,[5] comprising 265 acres (107 ha) of park lands and naturalistic habitats separated by the Bronx River. Denver Zoo

Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance is an 80-acre nonprofit zoological garden and conservation organization located in City Park of Denver, Colorado, United States. Founded in 1896, it is operated by the Denver Zoological Foundation.


Dallas Zoo

It is home to over 2,000 animals representing 406 species. The zoo was established in 1888. The zoo's first purchase was two deer and two mountain lions.source: wikipedia


San Francisco Zoo

Woodland Park Zoo

is a wildlife conservation organization and zoological garden located in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. Woodland Park Zoo created what is generally considered the world's first immersion exhibit, a gorilla habitat, which opened in the late 1970s. source: wikipedia


Memphis Zoo

Smithsonian National Zoo

Indianapolis Zoo

"The Indianapolis Zoo opened as Washington Park Children's Zoo on April 18, 1964, at Washington Park on East 30th Street. In its first year, the new attraction drew more than 270,000 visitors. The zoo originally featured an Asian elephant, penguins, kangaroos, foxes, raccoons, camels, bison, deer, lambs, tortoises, llamas, prairie dogs, pygmy goats, and buffalo exhibits. In 1965, the zoo became one of few in the country to employ a full-time education staff. The New Zoo

Phoenix Arizona Zoo

The zoo has over 1,400 animals on display and contains 2.5 miles (4.0 km) of walking trails. It is divided into four main themed areas or trails: The Arizona Trail (American Southwest flora and fauna), the Africa Trail (animals from Africa), the Tropics Trail (residents of the rain forests), and the Children's Trail, which includes a petting zoo.
