I woke up on the 19th of August and took a train ride to the world expo
My muscles still sore from Mt. Fuji climb but I walked on.
I arrived past 10 am . Official temperature record that day was officially high of 96-97 degrees.
To me, it felt like over 100 degrees.
I prepared by going to the store as soon as I entered the entrance and got myself items to cool me.
I got a map in case I ran out of battery.
In one day, I literally walked around the world.
I entered from one pavilion to the next, waited for long lines in heat.
Each time I visit a pavilion, I put a stamp on my map.
Each pavilion showcased each country, their art, architecture, music,
food, people, local products, nature and their goals for the future.
It is not every day or every year I can walk around the world in one day.
It is my curiosity that led me to be at the world expo.
The same way it was my curiosity as a little child that made me walk to look for plants and flowers alone.
The same curiosity that made me walk along the shore and observe sea shells and animals.
The same curiosity that made me taste food from varied cultures to connect with people.
The same curiosity that make me hear some musical beats with deep familiarity though I did not grow up exposed to some of them.
The same curiosity that made me jump into the ocean to swim with the sharks for first time and look at corals
with the same enthusiasm as those who studied them their entire lives.
There is a lot to learn about our neighbors than we think we know.
At the world's expo, some countries I am already deeply familiar with but I still went in, out of curiosity.
I walked from country to country, from one special exhibit pavilion to the next for 12 hours
until the Expo ended for that day
We are part of the world and the world is part of us.
Each country, big and small , I see has something to offer
There is indeed a lot to learn from each other.
In the world's fair, the eye was not focused on reminiscing the past or nostalgia.
It was fixating on the hopes and dreams of the world for the future.
