Trick or Treat

I remember the sweet treat that my grandmother

made on special occasions

She knows the recipe by heart

She passed the recipe to me

but only gave me a list of ingredients

I have to figure it out on my own.

I believe my sweet tooth was passed on to me

If I eat sweet treats be it cake I first tasted during my travels

or my ancestors recipe of waffle cookies ,

or my grandmother's signature dessert,

there is real joy in sharing it.

Its not a trick

It's my treat.
