I remember one of my travels

I encountered an abandoned

grand hotel

dilapidated with peeling paint.

In it's quarters were once

filled with furniture,

filled with people.

I walked up it's winding

staircase and stood on one of its balcony.

I was standing on the edge of

man -made concrete,

remnant of human stories

of people coming and going.

Behind me is a concrete building .

In front of me is Nature,

Serene and alluring.

The wind blew fresh air

on my face.

The scent in stark contrast to human decay.

I see flowers ,

lakes, mountains, craters

birds chirping.

Nature's architecture,

random, timeless and ageless

Endures
