Pretty Good day to walk on Snow

It was cold outside
But those who came out on January 30
Had pretty good reasons
to not fear the cold
Whenever people gather together,
There is warm glow
Though their feet were cold
from walking on snow
They walked on
They raised their fists and signs for everyone to see
They are the ones with the clear vision
of what our common home should be
They are not dictated by orders of hate and doubt
But by the loud gentle beats of their hearts
Their voices will not drown
By forces of injustice and tyranny
for those who dream of peace
will find true strength and beauty in solidarity
Some came out of the comforts of their homes, schools and businesses
Some used their feet, hands and voices
For there are few moments in time
when we All have to make choices
To walk on or walk away
To see or to look away
To listen to the beats
or pretend not to hear
They came out not because they were paid to play
They are the ones who can see and hear
what is Good and Pretty
So they walk in Solidarity
