Poem for mother in-law

I remember in College

I had a classmate with the most well pressed clothes

His uniform so clean and white

pants so well pressed

not a crease in sight

You can tell he was provided with

the kind of care, love and attention

that can only come from a loving mother

I remember their mother son dance

at our wedding in December

I remember their song by Stevie Wonder

Her family is the apple of her eye

Her love for her family is like no other

It’s the kind of love that never dies

She will always be remembered

Admired, respected

And most of all loved

Not just by her family but

By everyone who truly knows her

Whenever, I see a sunrise

It reminds me of a light ignited by a mother

It’s the kind of light that endures forever
